What another year it has been! As December is filled with cooler weather, holidays such as Hanukkah and Christmas with January right around the corner, we would like to take a small period to reflect as we relax with family and friends. Here are some things on our mind!
The Hurricane Season:
We can rest easy that hurricane season has been over for a while but here are some interesting numbers. Our 2022 season had:
· 16 Total depressions
· 14 Total storms
· 8 Hurricanes
· 3 Major hurricanes (Cat. 3+)
Whew, that was crazy!
The Shopping Season:
Speaking of crazy, we are now into full swing with gift giving. Many brick and mortar retail stores and malls have been busier filled with shoppers of all kinds! While the internet is its own global shopping mall of its own, there is still something special about retail & all its quirks. We hope however you get your gifts; those around you will appreciate all the thought that went into them!
Anyone want one of those mall pretzels?
Tree Season:
Everywhere you go, you’ll see those Christmas Tree tents. With so many different spruce trees to choose from, it can get overwhelming. We recommend one that of course is large for the whole family to decorate but make note of how high your ceiling is. Make sure your topper has a few inches room to stand tall and proud! If you aren’t going with a live tree, then mix it up! Synthetic trees are becoming especially creative over the last decade.
Christmas:
Christmas is a major holiday. Christmas Eve is December 24 (Saturday) and Christmas Day is December 25 (Sunday). It is always fun to reconnect with relatives over a nice dinner and other festivities. Some families like large gatherings where kids are the focus. Others like to chill with a bonfire or maybe eat at a fancy restaurant! However you like to celebrate, make sure you get the most out of it.
Hanukkah:
This year, Hanukkah begins December 18 through December 26. Eight days of gifts, celebration, candle lighting and of course Latkes!
Holiday Insurance Claims:
Didn’t think you’d get away this easy. Of course we need to talk about this as we handle claims all year round, especially during the Holiday Season. Whether there are home insurance claims such as damage (fires or winter weather damage), liability (injuries), or auto insurance claims due to traveling, we have heard them and have helped many! While insurance shouldn’t be a main star of your holiday season, make it a mental note to always keep everything up to date and always be ready to make a claim.
Here at Harris Insurance, we are so fortunate to have had your support! We are happy to have your back in time of need as well! We have been your local, family insurance agency since 1965 with no chance of slowing down. We look forward to our 59th year serving you! 2023 will be everyone’s best year yet!
We wish you a Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, & Happy Holidays from our families to yours!!
