Rental reimbursement is another optional coverage that can be very helpful if you need transportation and your vehicle is disabled or being repaired. It is usually a fixed coverage amount per day and is limited to a certain number of days. This is usually paid on a reimbursement basis unless it is arranged by the insurance company directly with the rental company.
When agreeing to rent a vehicle, be aware that you may still be responsible for damage to the rental vehicle including “loss of use” of the vehicle to the rental company if the vehicle is damaged while in your custody. These costs can escalate quickly and for this reason we highly recommend you purchase a physical damage waiver.
