We can’t believe we are wrapping up another year. As we prepare for a New Year, a new outlook, and new goals, we are thrilled to share the success of our Charity Referral Program in 2023. If you didn’t know, we are very proud of the tight-knight and supportive local community that surrounds our Agency. Since we have been a family owned business on The Emerald Coast since 1965, we have tried to make a conscious and important effort in giving back. We invite you to learn more about the history and efforts of HI Cares and missions that we are proud to support.
In its third year, the efforts of our Community Referral Program continued to benefit local charity, Food for Thought , which is a local nonprofit that combats childhood hunger in Okaloosa and Walton Counties.
About our Community Referral Program
Besides increasing community awareness about insurance, we have made it quick and easy to give back through our program. Whether you refer a relative or friend to Harris Insurance, when they request a quote from us, it starts the process. Quotes requested through this link tell us that you’ve been referred by a friend or family member. The request will prompt a discussion with one of our licensed Agents to review the type of insurance that you’re looking for (Home, Auto, Business, Life, etc.) Simply by allowing us to provide you with a new quote checks the box for supporting Food for Thought. There is no pressure to purchase the policy (though we always strive to help you improve on what you have)!
Throughout this year, we had exactly 500 friend, family, and word-of-mouth referrals which brought our 2023 donation to the highest amount yet — $5,000! We are so proud to beat last year’s donation and goal of $4,380.
“Now, more than ever, we need to continue helping out our community and Food for Thought is the hands and feet that allows us to make a direct impact in the lives of students in Northwest Florida. Giving back is so important not only for us as a business, but individually as well. It beings me great joy to continue our partnership with Food for Thought for the fourth consecutive year as we kick off 2024!”
– Natalie Schmidt, Business Development Director & Licensed Agent
Above, Harrison and Hattie Schmidt helped deliver the $5,000 check to Food for Thought and got to see the hundreds of donation bags of food being prepped for student’s Christmas Break.
A bonus that boosted our 2023 donation is that Business Development Director, Natalie Harris Schmidt, submitted for a “give local, think social” grant with Liberty Mutual and Safeco Insurance Companies. Her submission of Harris Insurance’s Charity Referral Program was selected as the Southeast Region Winner which won an additional $2,000 for Food for Thought!
We are so thankful that our efforts were chosen as a winner in this contest and would like to thank Liberty Mutual and Safeco Insurance Companies for helping our efforts this year!
