Well would you look at that? It is 2022! New Year, new outlook, and we’re beyond excited to share an accomplishment that kicked off this year with a major WIN. If you didn’t know, we are very proud of the tight-knit and supportive local community that surrounds our Agency. Since we have been a family owned business on the Emerald Coast since 1965, we have tried to make a conscious and important effort to give back through our Community Referral Program.
We are so happy to announce that our Community Referral Program, HI Cares, raised a grand total of $4,380 in 2021. We’ve partnered with local organization, Food For Thought who has been a staple in helping fight against childhood hunger. This is huge news considering that it is more than double the amount we raised in 2020! What is even crazier is that we launched the referral program in 2020 and in two short years, raised over $6000 to date! Harris Insurance is are no stranger to charitable efforts, we have given over $118,000 through many different programs, charities, and partnerships since our company’s formation.
“Now, more than ever, we need to continue helping out our community and Food for Thought is the hands and feet that allows us to make a direct impact in the lives of students in Northwest Florida. Giving back is so important not only for us as a business, but individually as well. It beings me great joy to continue our partnership with Food for Thought for the third consecutive year as we kick off 2022!” – Natalie Schmidt, Business Development Director & Licensed Agent

About our Community Outreach Program:
Besides increasing community discussion about insurance (I mean, that is our language here), we have made it quick and easy to give back! Whether you refer a relative or friend to us, they request a quote for their desired insurance product. When that quote is then reviewed by one of our amazing agents, the effort results in a count towards a $10 donation to our partnering charity! That’s it! (And we want to be perfectly clear that the donation is never contingent on the sale of a policy; we truly want to welcome you to evaluate your insurance needs with us and if we cannot beat what you currently have, we’ll tell you).
638 quotes and $6,380 in donations have been made simply by consumers being proactive on reviewing their insurance and most even saved some money in the process!
How you can get involved:
Easy! Click here to go to our Referral Program Quote Request and give us a little information that will help us get started on your best quote!
How you can get involved:
Food for Thought has many different ways for you to get involved. Besides donating directly to them on their website, corporate sponsorships, volunteer opportunities, and periodical planned events help bring more awareness and action to the cause. Please contact them if you are able to give time, energy, or resources to their cause.

More about Food For Thought:
“Established in 2010, Food For Thought Outreach started as a small family project to serve food insecure students in one school for one year. With a $300 budget, Founder Tiffanie Nelson partnered with her son’s school to begin providing critical access to food to children in need. Over the past eleven years, Food For Thought has grown into the go-to organization for fighting childhood hunger in Walton and Okaloosa Counties. The organization has grown to meet the ever-changing needs of the community and current provides weekly access to food to 3,400 food insecure school aged children across 34 school locations.” – FFTFL.Org
