Situated north of Panama City along FL-77, the city of Lynn Haven is a thriving community on North Bay in Bay County. Established in 1911, Lynn Haven has a long and varied history. In its early days, families began to settle there, businesses started opening up, and the small community began to grow and form its own identity. Once the 1920s came around Lynn Haven started to struggle, as did much of the rest of the county. However, thanks to the willpower and sense of community of its citizens and new residents moving in following the Spanish-American War, Lynn Haven would survive this down period and become prosperous once again.
Today, Lynn Haven is just as community oriented as it was when it was established. One of the shining landmarks of the city is the Lynn Haven Public Library. The library dates back to the same year the city was established, in 1911, after fourteen ladies donated a book and a few magazines. It would continue to grow and expand over the years, mirroring the incredible willpower, strength, and communal prosperity that the citizens have shown over the years. Now it is the second largest city in the county, and even after all this time, the residents of this incredible city are proud of the town motto, “A Great Place to Live!”
